Red Stripe

"You alone are enough. You have nothing to prove to anybody." - Maya Angelou

Missed me? I know.. I miss me too! (Haha) It's been super busy lately. Most of you know that we had our first launch of our plus size clothing line last year here in Toronto. This year, we're showing new pieces and working on putting on another AMAZING show. So with that being said, its planning time and we hardly have any time to be with ourselves! Pray for us! We need it!

This post is long over due. Our weather has been extremely warm here in Toronto. It's a bit early for all of it, but hey, we'll take it as it comes. I thought I'd take advantage of it and throw on this navy and cream striped bodycon skirt that I got from Forever 21. I paired it with this cream mesh top that I bought a while back from Old Navy. My suede heels are from Torrid and my jewelry is a mixture of Forever21 and Shauna's Closet accessories. Funny fact: I usually HATE wearing red lipstick, but I thought it went really well with this outfit. I was feeling really playful today!

Moral of the story: Go for it! Sometimes I can tell that people think I "shouldn't be wearing a skirt because I'm plus sized" or I "shouldn't be wearing anything form fitting" period. But remember that if you find it flattering and you're having fun wearing it, that's all that matters. You are your own person and life is way too short to dress according to someone else's wishes! Let me know what you think, peeps...

Review: Coral Trench Coat by Penningtons

Let's get straight to it! I love Love LOVE this coral spring trench coat that Penningtons sent our way (Thank you, Penningtons!). It's always nice to see a surprise in the mail waiting for you, especially when it has "Penningtons" written on the box! Just as a teaser/tester for the Spring wear collection, Penningtons thought that we might enjoy this beautiful coat. Other than the fact that coral is a really big color for this Spring, I believe that EVERY woman should own a nice fitting trench coat. Whether you pull it off in the Winter, or you decide to get a light Spring version like this gorgeous one from Penningtons.

For me, wearing a trench is an AWESOME way to "cop out!" lol-- I'LL EXPLAIN... I wore this for the first time today to go to church. I literally had a black tank on underneath and black leggings. Now that wouldn't be something I would wear alone to church, but today I did simply because of the accompaniment of my Penningtons trench! A bold bright colored trench can pull everything together. Have you ever seen an outfit that just seems to have a lot of loose ends? Sometimes all it takes is a good coat to collect the thoughts and give off a really polished look. Both Garcia and I are fans! I say, "Go now! Go get your coral trench coat from Penningtons!"
PS. I also hear that its now 25% off! Get it HERE before it goes!

Sash xoxo

I'm not wearing much other than my coat! BUT my floral patterned heels are from Burlington Coat Factory. My leggings are from Rainbow and my jewelry is courtesy of Shauna's Closet.

Love the buttons on this coat.

Dressed Down?

Let's put the myths aside once and for all. We do wear flat shoes. We don't always wear heels. (If we did, I WOULD DIE.) And sometimes, we dress down. In a way I don't want to call this "dressing down" but it the best way I can describe this attire seeing that usually I'm a little more exaggerated than this. Tonight I went to see my best friends little sister dance in a production. With not much thought, I threw this little outfit on, hoping to show you all that I'm not ALWAYS in a dress and heels! Although I love a great pair of heels, I also love an awesome pair of boots. These happen to be my favorite pair (From Torrid). A lot of stress went into this purchase! lol But it was SO worth it!

Just a little something small for ya! Let me know how you like it! Do you prefer my "dressed down" look better?

Special shout out to all of our new followers and to all of you tweeting us all day long! We love you guys! Ya'll are the

Addition Elle Intimates Event with Ashley Graham

We count it an honor to be one of the names called upon when Addition Elle has something up their sleeves. Last week, we were one of the few invited to take a sneak peak at the new and imporved Intimates collection by Addition Elle. In attendance was the BEAUTIFUL (and I say this with not an OUNCE of exaggeration), Ashley Graham, who modeled the pieces for us while we were there.

Now, you guys know me (Sasha). I am VERY heavy chested. Addition Elle has been my Canadian "bra go to" place for as long as I can remember. They go right up to an "H" cup, which happens to be my size. I had already accepted the fact that there was no way that a girl with my size chest would ever be able to have a fancy bra. I got it...I understood. "Full support comes as it is. There's no bows, colors, patterns for me. How DARE I ask for so much?" Well well well...Addition Elle has flipped the script. Because now they're boldly stating that 'support can also be sexy'... Don't believe them? Well I suggest that you do, because this season is going to be dynamic for Addition Elle on a whole. The pieces are beautiful while the support remains. I am no longer envious of La Senza or Victoria Secret girls! --- My "secret" is Addition Elle.

Ashley Graham during an interview.

One of our FAVS.

While listening in on the conversation, I couldn't help but notice how many times it was emphasized that Addition Elle wants to make sure that the plus size girl isn't missing out on the fashion experience. I admire that. For so long, we've been kind of thrown on the side. Forced to wear what was available. And to finally have a Canadian brand willing to include us in the fashion world...They've got my full support--- no pun intended.

The beautiful Ashley and Flaws of Couture.

It's always awesome to see all of our fellow Canadian Plus bloggers! Beauties!

We want to give a special THANK YOU to Addition Elle for continuing to include us throughout the amazing fashion journey. It is always a pleasure.

Brave-Heart

“You find out who you are by figuring out who and what you're not.” -Kelly Cutrone

I've been getting a lot of heck lately in regards to my choice of clothing. It's caused me to think long and hard about whether or not style and fashion are still channels of self expression. More and more, I've realized that people really have lost their sense of individuality and in a way, really put "fashion" into a box. Aren't we tired of everyone looking the same? Aren't we tired of being told what to wear? Why not dress according to how you feel and how you want to feel? Hey, I mean, that's what I do. But then again, it really is whatever works for you as an individual.

My challenge for you this week is to wear something that is a true reflection of who you are and how you're feeling. Express yourself truthfully, regardless of what others may say or think. You've only got ONE life to live and trust me, they've got theirs!
