Jog Me Up!

Hey loves!! I feel like its been a million and one years since I've put up a post, but don't worry because I am back, for real this time
Whats new in my life?? Ummm... Everything! Lately, life is becoming so overwhelming and I've found myself loosing my spark; loosing what makes me, "me". Its sounds crazy but believe me, 21 year olds go through their own mess! Part of the reason I've been feeling like this, is because of how my love life is going. I never understood how loving one person could change you. I used to judge people who let themselves get caught up with their relationships and emotions, but after this experience I am a believer that love makes us cray! I've learned a lot about myself and even though things didn't work out I'm using it as a learning experience to better myself and hopefully never make the same mistakes again. Also, Sasha and I have been working tirelessly  on some new things you all will love! We have been really trying to focus on branding ourselves, and getting our message out there.
New things are coming your way for the fall!

"To the living, we owe respect. To the dead, we owe only the truth."

I wanted to give you guys some lovinggg. I picked up this beautiful combo from Target last week! The skirt was a new item in store, so when I bought it, I couldn't WAIT to show you guys. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it RIGHT AWAY. And because I have such a big head, I like winged out/cat-eye glasses. It helps to balance my face features out so well. What I like most about the skirt is the white patchwork. I've always wished I was a little more "hippy" and this skirt does the trick lol! Illusions I tell ya! I hope you like it...and my hair? So different from what I'm used to! The whole look is so sleek. I absolutely love it. Feeling like I'm getting my Kim K on...no?! Let me know what you think!

In addition to all things great, I want you guys to keep completely posted to Flaws of Couture. We have so much in store for you this Fall/Autumn! It's going to be BANANAS. In the meantime, if you haven't liked our Facebook fan page...I suggest you do! Soon we'll be doing give aways like nobody's business! You sure you wanna miss out on that? AND I have about 3,300 of you beauties on INSTAGRAM (@flawsofcouture)! Stick with us! It's gonna be awesome! Anyhow, I've been making  it a point to speak my mind about things that matter to me. If you want to know how I feel about the Zimmerman case verdict....go to the bottom of this post. Thank you so much guys for showing so much love, I take it you all REALLY loved the swimsuit? Yippeee, that only means that I gotta get another! lol You guys are special. Thank you for being our ride-or-diessss. <3

I could barely find the energy to make this post. The day was going extremely well, and then I heard the news. "Zimmerman, NOT guilty." I've made it a point to keep politics/media out of anything I do on the blog just because its such a touchy issue. You come here for fashion/style, and thats what I want to give you. But who are we really if we can't be ourselves? When I was debating whether or not I should write how I feel on the blog, I came to one conclusion. This is MY blog. Of course I should let you guys know what matters to me and stand up proudly for the things that I believe are right. I am so disheartened by the verdict, and I am shocked at how easily Zimmerman got off. All I can think of is the intention of Trayvon Martin. All I can think of is the candy in his hand, the iced tea in his pocket. And his intention to go home. HOME. Those simple things will haunt me forever. Trayvon is the same age as my little brother. Tall like him. Athletic like him. Loves candy from the corner store like him. Trayvon WAS my little brother & justice was not served today for him today.

Something must be done.

Trayvon, rest peacefully honey.

My Body My Rules: Nakimuli Bright Aztec Serengeti Swimsuit

"The beautiful journey of today can only begin when we learn to let go of yesterday."-Steve Maraboli

At what exact point do you let go? And I mean REALLY let go. I think even with all of the body positive movements going around, we still haven't let go of all that's holding us back. Whether it be what that really cute boy said to you in the seventh grade, or that "turn down" email that you received from that modelling agency after you gave it your all. Whatever it is, have you really let it go? I've realized lately that even though I thought I was in my most confident state, I still thought occasionally about what "they" would say if I walked out in a swimsuit. Much less a two-piece for that matter! A million thoughts would go through my mind in 5 seconds about why my ASS shouldn't go out in that bikini....and then "Sasha Fierce" would snap me back into shape saying, "Get yo' ass ON that beach IN that bikini RIGHT THIS MINUTE."

It really is 'mind over matter'. Then eventually NOTHING ELSE will matter. Nothing anyone ever said will matter. I'm telling you, IT GETS BETTER. And you'll feel amazing. It's been a long time coming, but I feel more confident now in this swimsuit than I did when I was 9 years old, a size 9, in the last swimsuit I ever wore. I got this swimsuit from Nakimuli Inc. I found them on Instagram about a year ago and followed their every move ever since. Ladies, if you are ready to step out boldly in the swimsuit world...NAKIMULI is for you (check them OUT!). I promise you, it's worth the investment and the fit is impeccable. Like the visor (tres chic, eh?!)? Got it from The Bay which would be the equivalent to Macy's for my American friends!

Hope you guys like it! Happy Canada Day...I am a VERY proud Canadian girl!
