I have been that one fat girl that's not feeling the "sexy onsie" look that has been trending. But if I'm going to be completely honest, it was probably because I thought I couldn't find one that would look great on me.

Well, if you caught our last post, you're probably trying to get a look at the 2 other looks that complete this 4 part series. Welcome back! But if you didn't catch the last post, feel free to go take a look before or after you scroll through! Below are two more looks for the holidays that DO NOT over-do sequins and/or glitter.
December 12, 2015
I love the holidays. But, I must admit…I hate the sudden overload of sequins & glitter.
Okay…so maybe "hate" is a strong word. But if it were between velcro sneakers and a sequins sweater...I'd probably be in that velcro ALL day.
So, I figure that I can't be the only one. It would safe to assume that the holiday season only brings pure confusion for girls like me when shopping for the perfect outfit. Whether it be for your work Christmas party or just your annual family dinner, your motive is to look your absolute best WITHOUT being the big ball of glitter at the party. Well, search no more. We've put together 4 Holiday Looks that Don't Overdo Sequins or Glitter.
But, for today, lets ease you in with 2 out of the 4 looks we've prepared!
Garcia's look is first!
Although we love champagne, rose golds, silvers and bright reds…there really is nothing like a little black dress. And I know that we don't typically think of it for the holidays, but we're here to prove to you that it can be done. This Joseph Ribkoff dress from Sexy Plus Clothing is super limited. And we understand why. The subtle sequins detailing is JUST ENOUGH to kick this little black number up a notch while adding the Holiday flare. But because we are all about standing out and making a statement, what's a black dress without a bold accenting colour. This brand new royal blue faux fur stole from FOC Details is the perfect piece to throw over your shoulder at this year's Holiday party.
Try it. I dare you!
Dress: Sexy Plus Clothing
Faux Fur Collar/Stole: FOC Details
Then I'm up next. If you're a little bit dramatic like myself, you need to pick up this dress from Sexy Plus Clothing. It's the perfect cross between "show-stopper" and "classy lady" all in one dress. If you're really not into the whole sequins look like myself but don't mind a little shine, this dress is for you. Once again, we incorporate the colour because we're MAKING A STATEMENT and the fringe down the sides of your curves come in to remind you and everyone else in the room, that YOU are the life of the party.
I decided to throw this beautiful Forever 21 Plus ivory coloured trench coat on top to pull the look together. A good coat can do that to just about any outfit. Every curvy girl should invest in their coat game! You'll thank me later. Trust me.
Dress: Sexy Plus Clothing
Jacket: Forever 21 Plus
Tell us what you think! Stay tuned for the remaining 2 outfits this week!

Grey. My new obsession.
I had this outfit put aside for the longest time. I was waiting for the perfect time to wear it when I realized that there's never a more perfect time than right now. I love everything about the shades of grey that I'm seeing in so many stores this season. That's one of the main reasons why I had to make sure that even in my store (FOC STORE), grey was well represented...
This whole look was inspired by my FOC detachable faux fur collar piece (Buy HERE). I knew that I wanted to find all grey pieces to surround it, so I started my hunt and came up with this. My pants are an old buy from the Target Phillip Lim collection. I love these joggers. Who am I kidding…I love ALL joggers. I decided to pair it with this SUPER SEXY cropped turtle neck from Rebdolls. Over top, this ever so popular Forever 21 Plus grey jacket was a perfect fit. I've had my eye on it for about two months now and yesterday, I finally caved in.
Wouldn't it have been super dope if I had a pair of grey heels?! Yeah, well…the way my shoe collection it set up…I had to work with what I had. So, I put on my strappy black heels from Target and called it a day.
Speaking of "working with what you have", I've been getting quite a few e-mails and DMs about how I've gone about blogging and getting clothing over the last 5 years etc. I want to say to anyone who is looking into blogging that it is important that you live and work within your means. Like I said, I didn't have a pair of grey heels to wear with this outfit. Did I want a pair? Hell, yes. Was it the end of my blogging career if I didn't get a pair? Hell, no. Contrary to popular belief, blogging can be very expensive. Not everything I wear is handed to me by a company. Everything I'm showing you right now, I bought. Make sure that you learn to work with what you have! It's an amazing feeling when you can pull from your closet and recreate new looks from old pieces. It is extremely possible.
Tell me what you think about this look. I'm almost sure that it's about to be one of my favourites. I'm also hoping you all are well. See you soon.

Two pieces. Maximum. That's a little challenge I've had for myself over the last year. I find that the old cliche saying of "less is more" really does work best for me. I used to be the type that would wear everything in my closet at once. It may have worked then, but it definitely doesn't work now...

THEN there's "Not being afraid of your body". Another thing on the list of what we have to teach ourselves to do during this body positive movement. It's hard. I know. But there are multiple ways to exercise your boldness. You can get into yoga, you can join a pole dancing class, you can go public in your first bikini or you can do it the way I do it. And that's occasionally through my choice of clothing...

Let's face it. Sometimes you don't want to do all of the dramatics. Sometimes you just want to throw something on and have it work. Not all of us want to plan an outstanding outfit in advance. Some of us don't have time for it, and some of us just don't care to do it at all.
This is why great staple pieces are imperative!
September 16, 2015
It's time to start adding more layers. What is our obsession with Fall? Well, whatever it is.. I'm not mad about it because I cannot wait to experiment with my attire this season. I'm already OVER stocked up on duster jackets and fall coats. And I'm determined to get my hat-game on point...
September 15, 2015
Yes, we have Drake to thank for my blog post title! Don't hate! When September rolls around, it's slay season for the layering queens. I kept it pretty simple with this comfy, fuzzy sweater from Penningtons. They have so many sexy and casual sweaters in for fall!
September 02, 2015
I'm not going to promise you that from here on out it's going to be pants and "Autumn-like" posts. As much as I love Fall fashion, I've decided not to make that dictate what I wear. I live in Canada. It's pretty much cold all year round (Let's be honest...There's Winter and July.) so I'm not going to miss out on all the super amazing pieces that I could be wearing just cause of a little extra wind! Hence, this crop top and harness bra that I already KNOW you've fallen in love with...
August 29, 2015
I've been trying to be less fussy with my style and learning to true meaning of less is more. Sometimes when I'm getting ready I do the absolute most. I add more rings, more necklaces, basically more of everything and I end up hating what I have on. This look is comfortable, simple but obviously still slaying !
August 26, 2015
What is it about my body that offends you? What is it about your own body that offends you? Have you ever asked yourself why it's such a shock to even YOU when you see a woman who is full in figure wear something provocative?
Is sex appeal only for the slender?
August 20, 2015
I think Rebdolls is amazing. I admire how much they've grown as a band and I just love all of pieces they come out with. If I'm going to be completely honest, I haven't had the best first experiences with a few of the pieces I've bought simply because I felt like they weren't true to size. BUT let me say this also...I believe I've gained weight and it definitely could be that I was living in the past. LOL. Don't act like you haven't been there...
August 10, 2015
Pull your hair back, throw on some red lips and clean it all up. That's what I did this weekend. When my eyes first caught these floral dress pants in Penningtons a week or so ago, I didn't realize how much potential they actually had. It just proves that the dressing room IS a girls best friend. You cannot foresee what something is going to be like, ladies! You MUST try everything on...
August 05, 2015
This cold shoulder dress is actually a swimwear cover up, but guess what? ...You would never know! To be honest it wasn't the first thing I gravitated towards but after putting it on I saw the potential. The colour on my skin is just fire! ...& the way it fits is EVERYTHING!
August 02, 2015
Yes. "You would've wore this with some pants." We get it. The safe route is just that;---SAFE. But then how can you really have fun with fashion? How can you really express yourself if all you're going to do is what's safe? Like I say to Garcia, "After you buy this, what is the difference between your body and the hanger it was just on?" How are you going to make it your own? Garcia and I are totally aware of how shocked people might be when seeing a big girl wear a short dress. It's either the stare that says, "You're not skinny, you shouldn't be wearing that..." or its the "OMG, you look amazing...I wish I had your confidence." We know what each stare means because we've often had people come up to us and express how they feel. You don't have to be skinny to be daring. And you DON'T have to have "our confidence" to try new things. Your own will do just fine!
July 31, 2015
Options, options, Options! I am a woman who NEEDS options. Thankfully, Penningtons gets that. Let's be completely honest here. As much as I ADORE a dressy outfit with a side of painfully-sexy heels, nothing makes me more excited than a pair of flat shoes and a trendy sporty-chic outfit...
July 19, 2015
I love pairing opposite pieces together. It just makes things a little more fun. Initially, I had one vision for this dress. I was going to wear it with strappy heels and a cute girly clutch. "It's going to be great", I said. I could've been right, but for some reason when I saw my black leather coat on my way out the door...the rebel in me came alive...
July 16, 2015
Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are.
Can we all just admit that blue is my colour? I've been gravitating to powder blue items in the last few months and I am NOT mad AT ALL because it's totally working for me and my skin tone...

"Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced."
There isn't much to say this time around. I'm learning that life and success are not destinations. Success is rather the quality in which you've lived your life. Measure it by your happiness. Measure it by the love that you willingly give and receive. There is so much more to life than what or where you started out at. I have finally set myself free in that I will allow my heart to take me wherever it is that it desires. And not only is that taking place in my work and business, I'm allowing it to manifest in my clothing and even hair choices.

I had the most fun shooting this look featuring my favourite thing...-FRINGE!! Fashion doesn't always have to be serious and dark, even though I love an all black outfit! Summer is here and that means shots, shots and more shots! Have a good time, plan a mini road trip with your girls or get away with bae! Life is to be lived!

Nude. My colour of choice these days. I wish I could take you through my closet just to see how much my obsession has cost me...
June 27, 2015
It is with such pleasure that we bring this to you all! As you all know, we, Flaws of Couture have ventured out in the last few years starting an unapologetic clothing brand that has taken off in speeds that we couldn't even imagine! Since we've started, we've watched what was just supposed to be a T-SHIRT line, grow into a culture within the plus size community! Over the years, we've responded to countless e-mails and comments regarding opportunities to model for us. But given the fact that we are based in Toronto, our 90% American following was never able to participate.

Black is slowly but SURELY becoming my favourite colour to wear. I know, I know...everyone says it's a shade and only people who 'hide their body' call it a favourite. BUT, whether colour or shade-black just gets me. It's simple yet classic. It goes well with my outfits, shoes and not to mention my lipsticks! Obviously, I don't have a problem with showing some skin. This outfit isn't for anyone who can't handle a few stares. My top is from H&M and I'm also wearing my favourite Addition-Elle skirt! The black (what a surprise) strapped heels are from torrid, but the gold detailing makes it FIRE(hot!)!
Come on...admit it. You love black just as much as I do. Don't you?

To me, it was pretty simple. I had been following Nadia Aboulhosn for years. From the jump. She was the one blogger that I couldn't keep my eyes off of. I literally watched her grow.
Fast forward a few years, and here we finally have it. Nadia designs her first collection with Boohoo like only she could. So the answer was simple; it was only right that I buy some of her pieces. It was only right that I support. Nadia has always been a reminder to me that no matter what you do, you gotta put in the work. I've always said to Garcia, "Nadia gon' be the Queen no matter how they shuffle."...And I stand by that. She has truly changed the blogger game and this collection is nothing short of a reflection of that.

I decided to go SPANX-less this time around for the simple fact that....I felt like it! I know how big of a discussion support garments are within the plus size community. With half the community saying yes and the rest saying no, I had to channel my own thoughts today when getting out this outfit. Usually, I'm all for the SPANX, but today I felt restless and I wasn't about to restrict myself anymore than I had already felt. You know when you're just NOT tryna be sucked in and fidgeting with an annoying garment for the next few hours?
Yeah....that's how I was feeling.

Well, I'll be damned! There really isn't much to be said. We're so grateful and so excited to be apart of this month's blogger issue of Dare Magazine. What can I say...I'm addicted to nude. Last post I brought you to Voluptuous Clothing where I found that impeccable wrap detailed nude dress that I couldn't help but have. Well, at that same visit...I came across these two pieces as well. Obviously...there's a trend here.
March 29, 2015
This was the closest I could get to being in my birthday suit. Nudes. I adore a nude outfit. I don't know if that's because I'm obsessed with the Kim Kardashian look or if its just because it looks great on almost anyone. Either way...I love it. So when I saw Voluptuous Clothing post it as new inventory on their Instagram page, I knew I had to have it.
It was mine from the minute I laid eyes on it.

It's the G-day!!!!! So I'm 23 today and I'm feeling good! I'm not where I thought I'd be by now but I'm more than okay with that. Why am I okay you ask? Well, I'm okay with that because I'm simply living! How many people stop and actually smell the damn roses?? Not many of us do and I feel like I'm finally starting to enjoy life because I'm slowly freeing myself of other peoples expectations and opinions. We all start off with an IDFWU attitude but quickly end up catching some type of feelings! Sasha and I are literally experiencing some crazy, yet amazing changes in our lives and all we did was start smelling the roses and putting in the work. When you separate yourself and live the way you want; it becomes a freeing experience. I guess I'm feeling all inspirational because it's my birthday, but mostly because life is on it's way up for me and I'm friggin excited! 22 was fun, crazy and emotional so let's see what 23 has up it's sleeve!
March 15, 2015
Let me just start off by saying that this was NOT supposed to be a post. It was one of those sets that you figured just couldn't make on to the blog for any and EVERY particular reason. Whether it be hair malfunctions, wardrobe mishaps, etc. But regardless of how critical I was being, something kept me holding on. And I think I know exactly what it is. I literally put NO THOUGHT into this outfit. Often times, I prepare for posts. Today, I really just took whatever was in reach and made it work. THIS, is what I do every day. On a day to day basis, I never give my attire too much thought. So this is my way of sharing my truth by sharing my spur of the moment combinations.
It's unfortunate that so many of us aren't dressing for ourselves anymore. We dress to please everyone else. People we don't even know, people we do know, Instagram people....everyone but ourselves. What if we just decided to realize that we owe no fixed look to ANYONE? What if we started wearing what made us happy, regardless of what was in or what "goes together"? That's my challenge to you this week, ladies. Go into your closet, don't over think it, pick up whatever comes to mind, and make it work. It's okay for it to be all about you.

Growing up is a trap, and don't let anyone tell you differently! As much as I love the freedom that being a "grown up" comes with, I miss being a kid! I miss the small things like matching outfits with best friends, school dances (so lame lol) and refusing to wear anything but Air Forces, even in the summer. The one thing I wish I could have back is a stress free life. Adulthood can be tough and right now I'm feeling it with work, career choices, school, friendship drama and the list goes on. But, I'm slowly learning that growing up doesn't mean the fun has to stop.

Transitioning into womanhood means a lot of things. A lot of your opinions are changing. A lot of your goals are either being met or being re-evaluated. And often times...your sense of style takes a turn for the best and sometimes sadly for the worst. Well, for me, just shy of the big 2-5 by 4 months, my style has changed without me even noticing it. In every aspect of my wardrobe, less is indeed MORE. I've learned that a whole bunch of relatively "cheap" pieces put together don't necessarily make for an amazing outfit. Often times it's the core pieces like a great coat or a great pant/jean that REALLY pull you and your look together.

My aim is to find as many clean cut Olivia Pope-like coats as possible before this Winter ends. I'm convinced that no girl's wardrobe is complete without an EXCEPTIONAL coat. Now, I know EXACTLY what you're going to say. "Finding a winter coat that fits your curvy body is enough of a struggle; much less fashionable coats like trenches and such." I know! This is why I've made it my mission! And this time...Forever 21 prevails. Gone are the days where I dress well from head toe just to throw on an ugly winter coat for survival! Don't you just hate that?

When you're a size 24 in Canada...all things "fashion" become a tad bit more difficult. Let's just say it plain... Big girls don't have much option here if they want fashion versatility. Although Canada is taking baby steps to give the plus size girl more options, a trip to the mall is still more of a mundane window shopping experience. This is the sad truth...we've known this. So when I walked into Old Navy and saw this chic powder blue coat IN MY SIZE, I just had to have it. Ladies, these are things you DO NOT leave behind. I know at times we get so picky because we're either ballin' on a budget or we just aren't sure we can pull it off. But listen, keep the receipt just in case! Don't miss out on a powerful piece just because doubts got in the way.

Minimalism. I'm learning to listen to myself in every single aspect of my life. What I've found is that I'm happiest without all the fluff. Without all the extra stuff that comes with "being on fleek" in life. And it applies to my clothing choices too. There was a time when I would want 'MORE'. More of everything. More jewelry, more garments, more makeup...shoot, more hair! But really, it wasn't me. Sure, I looked good in it, but one hour in and I would be ready to tear it all off!
What's the point?
